Do Not Text and Drive Scholarship 2022(Requirement And Guide)

The risk of a “safety-critical occurrence” increases by 23 times when a motorist is texting while driving, according to the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute.

A scholarship program called the “do not text and drive scholarship” was established to teach the youth about the risks of texting while driving and how to avoid them.

 

DON’T TEXT AND DRIVE SCHOLARSHIP

The Do not text and drive scholarship is a scholarship open to almost all learners.

The scholarship is sponsored by Digital Responsibility, an organization started by Silicon Valley tech workers  to “share with young people the personal and public consequences of technology.”

Digital Responsibility aims to raise awareness through this scholarship program,  to educate young people about the dangers of texting and driving. Digital Responsibility also offers separate scholarships focused on: Digital Privacy and Technology Addiction Awareness.

The winner of this scholarship will receive a $1,000 award.

 

ELIGIBLE NATIONALITY

To be eligible for the do not text and drive scholarship, you must be a United States citizen or legal resident.

 

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Before considering to apply for this scholarship, there are some eligibility requirements to be met which are:

  • You must be a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior or a current or entering college or graduate school student of any level.
  • Homeschooled students are also eligible.
  • Any age grade can apply as there is no age limitation.
  • Must be an undergraduate student
  • You Must attend a university, a four-year college, or a two-year college
  • You must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.

The top 10 applications will be selected as finalists. The finalists will be asked to write a full-length 500- to 1,000-word essay about texting while driving.
